Deleting Backup Data
To back up with Arq, you create a “backup plan” in Arq. This also creates a “backup set” at the storage location.
A “backup set” is a set of data resulting from the backup plan, including backup records and a copy of the backup plan. The name of the folder containing the backup set is a UUID.
When you remove a backup plan from Arq, the “backup set” (the backup records and files within them) is not deleted.
To delete a “backup set”:
- Click the “Backup” item on the left.
- Click the > in front of “Storage Locations” to expand the list of storage locations and backup sets within those storage locations.
- Click on the backup set in the list which you wish to delete.
- Click the “Delete” button at the bottom of the window
- Confirm that you wish to permanently delete the data by clicking “Delete” in the dialog that appears.
- Click the “Activity” item on the left, then click the “Show Log” button in the Delete activity in the list to monitor progress and see the log of what was deleted.
