Backup Record Retention

To change how many backup records Arq keeps (and reduce your overall cloud storage):

1. Open the Arq Cloud Backup app
2. Click the Settings… button
3. Click the Retention tab

You can tell Arq how many months it should keep backup records for.

You can also tell Arq to “thin” the backup record list as records get older. If you choose this option Arq will keep hourly backup records for the past 24 hours, daily backup records for the past month, and weekly backup records beyond that, similar to the way Time Machine does it.
